Disneyland Paris attractions, shops, restaurants and more can draw inspiration from a wide range of sources – from classic Disney short cartoons to Marvel and Lucasfilm hits. But at the heart of Disney are its animated classics – the 64 (at the time of writing!) films that kicked off with Snow White back in 1937 and run all the way to the current most recent – Zootopia / Zootropolis 2. In this blog we’re sharing which of these animated classics are represented in Disneyland Paris, and where you can find them!

Just some pointers before we go in…

Before I launch into the blog, here are some things to note:

• In this instance I’m just looking at Disney’s Animated Classic films – so not other animations produced by Disney (like Goofy Movie or Nightmare Before Christmas), not live action movies (like the Pirates franchise), not Pixar films, and not movies produced by Marvel or Lucasfilm. I’ll probably cover all them in a different blog!
• I’m not going to include here meet and greets that don’t have a fixed spot, seasonal entertainment (so things for Halloween or Christmas, or events like Million Splashes of Colour or Princess Week), and not merchandise. These simply change too often for this list to be able to remain accurate
• This is the references I know of – if I’ve missed anything do please share them in the comments!
• If an animated classic isn’t represented in the parks it’s not in the list below, so no I’m not ignoring it – it just isn’t represented at Disneyland Paris!

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)

• The Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs ride in Fantasyland retells the story of the film, including the scary parts!
• Next do, La Chaumiere des Sept Nains is a shop themed to Snow White – one half is the dwarfs’ cottage, and the other part of the castle. Pop in here for the theming even if you’re not interested in the Princess merch!
• A wishing well to the side of Sleeping Beauty castle looks a lot like the one in Snow White. Don’t forget to make a wish!
• Snow White’s Cottage and the Dwarfs’ mine feature in a scene on the Storybook Canal Boats
• Snow White is one of the Princesses often featured in Stars on Parade (this can change with performances though)
• Snow White and her Prince make a very brief appearance in Disney Tales of Magic
• Snow White is one of the princesses you may meet in the Princess Pavilion in Fantasyland (you won’t know who it is going in though!)
• Snow White can also make appearances at the Princess character meals – notably Auberge de Cendrillon or La Table de la Lumiere (with her prince)
• Snow White is featured in the decor at Regal View Restaurant in Disney Adventure World
• There are Snow White themed rooms at the Disneyland Hotel, and you may encounter Snow White herself in the meet and greets and story time in the hotel

Pinocchio (1940)

• Pinocchio’s Daring Journey in Fantasyland retells highlights from the animated film
• La Bottega di Geppetto next to the ride is a small shop themed to Gepetto’s workshop, that sells toys
• Au Chalet de la Marionette is also themed to Pinocchio, with large murals with scenes from the film. The theming is cute. The food isn’t.
• Pinocchio and the Blue Fairy are prominently featured at the beginning and end of Disney’s Tales of Magic
• A small statue of Pinocchio can be found outside the Animation Building in Disney Adventure World

Fantasia (1940)

• Mickey’s Philharmagic in Discoveryland does feature the Sorcerer’s Apprentice scene.
• The town from the Night on Bald Mountain section is included on the Storybook Canal Boats – complete with Chernabog! You can also find a temple from the pastoral scene
• While the theme has been diluted a little over the years, the gardens just outside of the Disneyland Hotel and Disneyland Park are Fantasia Gardens – you’ll see some themed topiaries here for the theme.
• The fountain in the entrance plaza for Disney Adventure World is themed to Fantasia (specifically the Sorcerer’s Apprentice section)
• Sorcerer Mickey appears in statue form outside the Animation building in Disney Adventure World
• His Sorcerer’s Hat is also a key and prominent decorative feature of the building
• One of the small statues surrounding the figure of Mickey outside the Animation building is Bacchus from the Pastoral section

Dumbo (1941)

• The Dumbo the Flying Elephant ride in Fantasyland allows guest to take flight with Dumbo. Nearby snack stands keep a circus theme, even if not outright themed to the film.
• Casey Jr train ride is themed and named after the train in Dumbo
• Disney and Co on Main Street USA has a very Dumbo-esque circus theme, even if it’s not outright inspired by the film.
• Dumbo makes a very brief appearance in Disney Tales of Magic (we’re talking blink and you’ll miss it!)
• Surrounding the Sorcerer Mickey statue outside the front of the Animation Building in Disney Adventure World, there’s a smaller statue of Dumbo

Bambi (1942)

• Bambi’s biggest appearance on site is in the theming details at Disney’s Sequoia Lodge Hotel. Even with the current refurbishment, Bambi will remain a key part of the theming.
• Bambi and his mum make a brief appearance during the ‘Remember Me’ part of Disney Tales of Magic (pack the tissues!)

Make Mine Music (1946)

One reference that we know of here – Casey’s Corner on Main Street USA is named after the Casey and the Bat section of this film.

Fun and Fancy Free (1947)

Sir Mickey’s, the shop in Fantasyland, is inspired by the ‘Mickey and the Beanstalk’ portion of the film.

The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr Toad (1949)

Toad Hall Restaurant in Fantasyland is directly themed after the Wind in the Willows section of this film

Cinderella (1950)

• Auberge de Cendrillon, the character dining spot in Fantasyland, is themed and named after Cinderella, and she can typically be found here meeting guests during their meals. The Pumpkin Coach is parked in the courtyard outside as a photo op.
• Near Auberge de Cendrillon, the Cinderella Statue is a sweet photo spot in Fantasyland
• Cinderella is one of the Princesses you may meet in the Princess Pavilion (note you won’t know in advance who you’ll be meeting)
• Cinderella is typically featured on the Princess float in Stars on Parade
• Cinderella and her Fairy Godmother feature quite prominently in Disney Tales of Magic
• Cinderella and her Fairy Godmother also make an appearance in Mickey and the Magician in Disney Adventure World
• In World Premiere, a poster for the Hollywood Jewel Box rather prominently features a certain glass slipper…
• Cinderella is featured in the decor for the Regal View Restaurant in Disney Adventure World
• The Disneyland Hotel features Cinderella themed rooms. You might also see Cinderella here in the character meet and greets and story times in the lobby

Alice in Wonderland (1951)

• Alice’s Curious Labyrinth in Fantasyland takes you through a fun maze and past key scenes from the animated film.
• Nearby, the Mad Hatter’s Teacups are waiting for you to take a spin in this classic Disney attraction.
• Also nearby, March Hare Refreshments sells ice creams and has a seating area themed around Alice in Wonderland
• Don’t miss the tea party photo opportunity outside of the Labyrinth in Fantasyland

Peter Pan (1953)

• Peter Pan’s Flight in Fantasyland lets you fly in a pirate ship over key scenes from the movie
• The ‘You Can Fly’ scene from the film is featured as one of the scenes in Mickey’s Philharmagic over in Discoveryland
• Skull Rock and the Jolly Roger Pirate ship on Adventure Isle in Adventureland are themed after the film
• There’s a very prominent (and very cool!) Peter Pan float in Stars on Parade
• Tinkerbell and Peter Pan make brief appearances in Disney’s Tales of Magic
• Outside of the Animation Building in Disney Adventure World, Peter Pan and the Darling children appear in statue form flying next to the Sorcerer’s Hat.
• A small statue of Tinkerbell can be found outside the Animation Building in Disney Adventure World
• Peter Pan is also one of the bronze statues in the English themed garden on Adventure Way
• Tinkerbell features as the weathervane for World of Disney in Disney Village
• Peter Pan will also be appearing in the building decor for Disney Wonders, coming to Disney Village this year

Lady and the Tramp (1955)

Pizzeria Bella Notte is themed for the famous spaghetti scene in the film

Sleeping Beauty (1959)

• At the risk of stating the utter obvious, the big castle in Disneyland Park is themed to this film, as are the two attractions inside – The Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough, and the Dragon’s Lair
• Also in the Castle, the Castle Boutique continues the theme of the walkthrough attraction upstairs with the stained glass. (This is the Christmas shop)
• The Three Fairies Confectionary in Fantasyland is themed to the cottage where the fairies Flora, Fauna and Merryweather looked after Aurora in the film.
• Sleeping Beauty is featured prominently in Stars on Parade, with the fire-breathing Maleficent dragon taking on Prince Philip, and Aurora heading up the Princesses
• Aurora is one of the princesses you might meet in the Princess Pavilion in Fantasyland (although you won’t know until you get there)
• Aurora and Philip also make a brief appearance in Disney Tales of Magic
• You may meet Aurora in one of the Princess dining spots – Auberge de Cendrillon in Fantasyland, Regal Review Restaurant in Disney Adventure World (here she’ll be in her Briar Rose outfit), and La Table de la Lumiere in the Disneyland Hotel (where she may appear with Prince Philip)
• Aurora is featured in the decor in the Regal View Restaurant in Disney Adventure World
• The deco by Disney shop in Disney Village features outside a large mural of Sleeping Beauty Castle and has Sleeping Beauty elements inside
• The Disneyland Hotel has rooms (and suites!) themed to Sleeping Beauty, and the lobby has taken a lot of inspiration from Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. You may also meet Aurora here in the character meet and greets or the story time sessions.

101 Dalmations (1961)

• If you look in the upstairs windows for the Emporium in Main Street USA, Pongo appears in one as the fire department mascot
• One of the Main Street Vehicles features puppies from the film in the window
• In Disney Adventure World, statues of Pongo and some puppies have been added to the English garden on Adventure Bay

Sword in the Stone (1963)

• The Sword in the Stone itself can be found as a photo opportunity in the courtyard behind Sleeping Beauty Castle in Fantasyland
• In the Castle, the Merlin the Enchanter shop is themed after the character in the Sword of the Stone. Look for details of his magic in the shop!
• Kind of Sword in the Stone adjacent (I guess?) the Carousel is named after Lancelot, the character from Arthurian legend – he doesn’t appear in the Sword in the Stone film thought as it’s set when Arthur was still a child!
• The Sword in the Stone can be seen in one scene on the Storybook Canal Boats

The Jungle Book (1967)

• Colonel Haithi’s Outpost Restaurant in Adventureland is themed after the head of the elephant herd in the film
• Characters from the Jungle Book appear on one of the floats in Stars on Parade (the back of the Lion King float)

The AristoCats (1970)

• In Disney Adventure World, three snack kiosks are now named after the three kittens – Chez Marie sells ice cream treats, Chez Berlioz offers topped potato pancakes, and Chez Toulouse offers filled rolls.
• Also in Disney Adventure World, inside World Premiere there’s a poster for O’Malley and the Alley Cats referencing the film

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977)

• Winnie the Pooh’s tree home in the Hundred Acre Wood is included on the Storybook Canal Boats
• A statue of Winnie the Pooh is found in the English garden in Disney Adventure World

The Little Mermaid (1989)

• Part of Your World is one of the scenes included in Mickey’s Philharmagic in Discoveryland
• You can see Prince Eric’s Castle on the Storybook Canal Boats in Fantasyland
• Ariel is one of the Princesses you may meet in the Princess Pavilion in Fantasyland (but you won’t know who you’re meeting in advance!)
• Ariel can be found in character dining experiences, notably Regal View Restaurant in Disney Adventure World where she appears in her village outfit. She may also appear at Auberge de Cendrillon in Fantasyland, and la Table de la Lumiere in the Disneyland Hotel
• Ariel is featured in the decor in the Regal View Restaurant in Disney Adventure World
• There are Little Mermaid themed rooms at the Disneyland Hotel. You may also meet Ariel here in the character meet and greets, or the story time sessions in the lobby

Beauty and the Beast (1991)

• Be of Guest is one of the scenes include in Mickey’s Philharmagic in Discoveryland
• Beast’s Castle and Belle’s village are both featured on the Storybook Canal Boats
• Belle is one of the Princesses you may meet in the Princess Pavilion in Fantasyland (but you won’t know who you’re meeting in advance!)
• Belle is typically one of the Princesses on the Princess float in Stars on Parade
• Beauty and the Beast is featured quite prominently in Disney Tales of Magic
• Lumiere, Belle and the Beast are all character featured in Mickey and the Magician in Disney Adventure World
• You can meet Belle in character meals in the resort. Notably at Regal View Restaurant (where she appears in her village dress), and at La Table de la Lumiere in the Disneyland Hotel (where she appears with her Prince). You may also see her at Auberge de Cendrillon in Fantasyland
• Belle is featured in the decor for the Regal View Restaurant
• La Table de la Lumiere in the Disneyland Hotel is themed for Beauty and the Beast
• At the Disneyland Hotel there are Beauty and the Beast themed rooms (and a suite). You may also meet Belle in the meet and greets at the hotel, and the story times that take place in the lobby.

Aladdin (1992)

• Aladdin’s Enchanted Passage in Adventureland retells the story of the film through a series of tableaus
• Nearby, there’s a photo spot with the lamp where you may meet a character from the film, or can just grab a photo with the lamp instead!
• Agrabah Cafe Restaurant in Adventureland is heavily inspired by Aladdin, particularly the marketplace in the film
• While not directly tied to Aladdin, the entrance buildings to Adventureland have a very similar architectural style to those in the film
• A Whole New World is one of the scenes featured in Mickey’s Philharmagic in Discoveryland
• You go into the Cave of Wonders and see a scene with the lamp on the Storybook Canal Boats in Fantasyland
• Jasmine may be one of the Princesses you meet in the Princess Pavilion in Fantasyland (you won’t know who you’re meeting in advance though)
• The Genie and A Friend Like Me are one of the scenes in Mickey and the Magician in Disney Adventure World
• A small statue of Genie can be found outside the Animation building in Disney Adventure World
• You may meet Jasmine at character dining spots – most likely Auberge de Cendrillon in Fantasyland (although she could rarely appear at La Table de la Lumiere or Regal View Restaurant)
• Jasmine does feature in the decor in the Regal View Restaurant in Disney Adventure World
• The Disneyland Hotel has Aladdin themed rooms. You may also meet Jasmine in the character meet and greets at the hotel and the story time in the hotel lobby
• It’s not happened yet but Disney have already said that Aladdin will be one of the floats in the new parade coming to Disneyland Park in 2028

The Lion King (1993)

• Rhythm of the Pridelands in Frontierland is a show retelling the story of the Lion King through its music
• Restaurant Hakuna Matata in Adventureland is themed to the Lion King, offering African inspired eats and seating areas named after Timon and Pumbaa
• I Just Can’t Wait to be King is one of the scenes included in Mickey’s Philharmagic in Discoveryland
• There’s a Lion King themed float in Disney Stars on Parade
• There’s also a prominent Lion King section in Disney Tales of Magic
• Rafiki and the Circle of Life are featured in Mickey and the Magician in Disney Adventure World
• It’s not happened yet but I’d be remiss if I didn’t say that there’s an entire Lion King ride and land coming to Disney Adventure World – no opening date at the time of writing though.

Pocahontas (1994)

• The Frontierland Playground was originally themed to Pocahontas, and while it’s gotten a name change over the years you can still see elements of the inspiration here
• Pocahontas does appear very briefly in Disney Tales of Magic
• Pocahontas is included in theming details in the Regal View Restaurant in Disney Adventure World
• The currently refurbishments taking place at Sequoia Lodge will add Pocahontas theming to some of the rooms

Hunchback of Notre Dame (1995)

• Hunchback is featured in Disney Tales of Magic, where ‘Out There’ is one of the songs included.
• A small statue of Esmeralda appears outside the Animation building in Disney Adventure World

Hercules (1996)

• Go the Distance is included among the songs in Disney Tales of Magic in Disneyland Park.
• Hercules is featured prominently in Disney Cascade of Lights, the nighttime show in Disney Adventure World – notably Zero to Hero and Go the Distance.
• A small statue of Hercules can be found outside the Animation building in Disney Adventure World

Mulan (1998)

• Mulan is often featured on the Princess float in Disney Stars on Parade
• Mulan can be one of the princesses you may meet in the Princess Pavilion in Fantasyland (but you won’t know who you’re meeting before hand)
• Mulan is also included in Disney Tales of Magic with Reflection
• The film is featured even more prominently in Disney Cascade of Lights, with section based around Reflection and I’ll Make a Man Out of You
• A small statue of Mulan can be found outside the Animation Building in Disney Adventure World
• Mulan does sometimes appear in character meals at Regal View Restaurant, in her outfit from the end of the film. It’s possible she may appear at the other character dining spots – Auberge de Cendrillon or La Table de la Lumiere, although I’ve not seen a lot of appearances of her here
• Mulan does appear in decor in Regal View Restaurant
• Mulan doesn’t get her own themed rooms at the Disneyland Hotel, but she is referenced in theming details around the hotel

Tarzan (1999)

A small statue of Tarzan can be found outside the Animation Building in Disney Adventure World

Fantasia 2000 (2000)

Bet you didn’t think this would make an appearance! And it wouldn’t if it wasn’t for a theming detail added in Arendelle Boutique in World of Frozen, which includes characters from the Steadfast Tin Soldier part of the film.

Lilo and Stitch (2002)

• Lilo and Stitch are included in a scene in Disney Tales of Magic in Disneyland Park
• A section of the Constellations gift shop in Discoveryland is themed to Stitch
• Stitch Live! in Disney Adventure World is a chance to interact with an animated Stitch in real time.
• This does go against me not mentioning character meet and greets without a set location, but I did want to note that there’s normally some form of Stitch meet and greet going – check the Disneyland Paris app for details!

Bolt (2008)

There is a poster in World Premiere inside Disney Adventure World referencing an animal shelter themed to this film.

The Princess and the Frog (2009)

• Tiana is one of the princesses typically on the Princess float in Stars on Parade
• Tiana may be one of the princesses you can meet in the Princess Pavilion in Fantasyland (but you won’t know who you’re meeting until you get there!)
• Tiana is featured prominently with her own float in the Princess Calvacade in Disney Adventure World
• It’s possible you may meet Tiana in one of the character dining restaurants like Auberge de Cendrillon, Regal View Restaurant or La Table de la Lumiere, but appearances here seem pretty rare
• Tiana does feature in the decor in Regal View Restaurant
• There are Princess and the Frog themed rooms at the Disneyland Hotel. You may also meet Tiana here in the meet and greets on site, or the story time sessions in the lobby

Tangled (2010)

• Rapunzel’s Tower is featured on the Storybook Canal Boats in Fantasyland
• You may see Rapunzel as one of the princesses in Stars on Parade (although she’s not always there)
• Rapunzel is one of the princesses you may be able to meet in the Princess Pavilion in Fantasyland (you won’t know who you’re meeting until you get there though)
• The floating lanterns in Tangled have a quick moment in Disney Tales of Magic in Disneyland Park
• Raiponce Tangled Spin in Disney Adventure World is a spinning ride themed after the lantern scene in Tangled, with Rapunzel and Flynn’s boat nearby
• Rapunzel has her own float in the Princess Calvacade in Disney Adventure World
• You may be able to meet Rapunzel in character meals like Auberge de Cendrillon, Regal View Restaurant or La Table de la Lumiere, although appearances are a bit hit and miss!
• Rapunzel is featured in the theming in Regal View Restaurant
• Disneyland Hotel has Tangled themed rooms, and you may be able to meet Rapunzel at the meet and greets at the hotel or at the story times in the hotel lobby

Winnie the Pooh (2011)

Cut and paste everything I said for the 1970s Winnie the Pooh film above!

Wreck-It Ralph (2012)

The only reference I know of is a poster in World Premiere for Litwak’s Arcade, the arcade featured in the film.

Frozen (2013)

• Arendelle Castle and Elsa’s Ice Palace are among the scenes on the Storybook Canal Boats
• Frozen has its own float in Disney Stars on Parade in Disneyland Park (which features the character’s outfits from the first Frozen film)
• Of course Frozen just got its own themed land in Disney Adventure World! This includes the Frozen Ever After Ride, Celebration in Arendelle show, Royal Encounter meet and greet with Anna and Elsa, Nordic Crowns Tavern dining, shopping spots, and roaming characters. Pretty much everything Frozen you need in one place!
• Elsa and Olaf do make an appearance in Mickey and the Magician in Disney Adventure World
• Anna and Elsa are featured in Disney Cascade of Lights in Disney Adventure World
• Anna and Elsa are also included in the theming in Regal View Restaurant
• There are Frozen themed rooms in the Disneyland Hotel, and the film is referenced elsewhere in the theming too

Zootopia / Zootropolis (2016)

Zootropolis is featured pretty heavily in Disney Cascade of Lights in Disney Adventure World

Moana (2016)

• Moana is featured as one of the scenes in Disney Tales of Magic in Disneyland Park
• Moana is also heavily featured in Disney Cascade of Lights in Disney Adventure World
• Also in Disney Adventure World, Moana has her own float in the Princess Calvacade here
• Moana is included in the theming in the Regal View Restaurant
• There are Moana themed rooms at the Disneyland Hotel, and she is also featured in the theming around the hotel

Frozen 2 (2019)

Copy and paste what I said for the original Frozen! Specifically, at the Royal Encounter in World of Frozen, Anna and Elsa meet in their Queen outfits from Frozen 2.

Raya and the Last Dragon (2021)

• Raya has her own float in the Princess Calvacade in Disney Adventure World
• She is also featured briefly with Sisu in Disney Cascade of Lights here
• Raya appears in the theming for Regal View Restaurant
• There are Raya and the Last Dragon themed rooms at the Disneyland Hotel, and you can find references in other theming details around the hotel

Encanto (2021)

• We Don’t Talk About Bruno is one of the key scenes in Disney Tales of Magic in Disneyland Park
• You can also see Mirabel briefly in Disney Cascade of Lights in Disney Adventure World

Moana 2 (2024)

Copy and paste what I said for Moana above!

Zootropolis / Zootopia 2 (2025)

Copy what I said for the first film above! Notably Gary de Snake and the song ‘Zoo’ are included in Disney Cascade of Lights
